Anthony Davis, the projected No. 1 pick in this month's NBA draft, has chosen Wasserman Media Group to represent him, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Davis, who played one season at Kentucky before declaring for the draft, is expected to be selected by the New Orleans Hornets with the top pick on June 28. He chose Wasserman Media Group over Creative Artists Agency and Bill Duffy and Associates. Arn Tellem and Thad Foucher will be Davis' primary agents.
Wasserman's NBA clients include All-Stars Derrick Rose, Russell Westbrook, Joe Johnson and LaMarcus Aldridge as well as Pau Gasol, Tyreke Evans, Al Horford, Danilo Gallinari and Kendrick Perkins.
Davis was the consensus college basketball player of the year last season after averaging 14.3 points, 10 rebounds and 4.7 blocks while leading Kentucky to a national champion. Wasserman will likely arrange for Davis to visit New Orleans and meet with the Hornets prior to the draft. Several agents have said that Davis should do well in signing endorsement deals.
