The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached agreement to sign Denver Nuggets free-agent guard Corey Brewer to a three-year, $15 million contract, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The Timberwolves, however, are still working to clear the needed salary-cap space to add Brewer, who played for Minnesota during the first four seasons of his six-year career. The Nuggets added guard Randy Foye in a sign-and-trade Wednesday and aren't expected to be involved in a separate sign-and-trade with Brewer and Minnesota, sources said.

The Milwaukee Bucks, however, could help the T'wolves free up cap space because they are having discussions to acquire Minnesota point guard Luke Ridnour, sources said. The Bucks lost free-agent guard J.J. Redick to the Los Angeles Clippers and have two other free-agent guards in Brandon Jennings (restricted) and Monta Ellis. Ellis is not expected to return.

Signing Brewer to the midlevel exception also is an option for the T'wolves, a source said.
