    Blazers sign J.J. Hickson

Free-agent forward J.J. Hickson has agreed to a one-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Hickson, 23, averaged 15 points and eight rebounds in 19 games for the Blazers last season.

Hickson was the 19th pick in the 2008 NBA draft for Cleveland and played three seasons there. The Blazers acquired Hickson off waivers last season after the Sacramento Kings released him. With Nic Batum’s future in doubt in Portland, Hickson gives the Blazers a young forward who can score and rebound. The Golden State Warriors had pursued Hickson in free agency.
