Team USA suffered another significant blow to its thinning front-court depth: Clippers forward Blake Griffin has been ruled out of the London Olympics with a left knee injury.
Griffin aggravated the injury in a scrimmage on Wednesday in Las Vegas and flew back to Los Angeles for an MRI exam on Thursday. The Clippers issued a statement saying that Griffin suffered a medial meniscus tear and will undergo surgery. His recovery time is expected to be 8-10 weeks, a league source told Y! Sports.
Griffin sprained the knee in Game 5 of the Clippers first-round playoff series against Memphis.

Anthony Davis, the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft to the New Orleans Hornets, was chosen to replace Griffin on the roster on Thursday night, sources told Yahoo! Sports. Davis made his Team USA debut against the Dominican Republic in Las Vegas.
Team USA has lost several potential players to its frontcourt with injuries, including Dwight Howard, Chris Bosh, LaMarcus Aldridge and Lamar Odom.
