Nationals' Ramos back on disabled list

The SportsXchange

Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos was placed on the disabled list because of a strained left hamstring on Thursday, less than three weeks after being on the disabled list for the same injury.

Ramos aggravated his hamstring Wednesday night while running out a double. He stayed in the game, but ran gingerly after hitting a single in the fourth inning and was removed from the game at that point.

Ramos, 25, is expected to return to Washington to have an MRI performed and undergo further evaluations, according to the Washington Times.

Jhonathan Solano was called up from Triple-A Syracuse to be the backup catcher for Kurt Suzuki, who assumes the role of starter in Ramos' absence.

Ramos is batting .250 with two homers in 14 games this season.
