Washington Nationals left-hander Ross Detwiler will join Team USA for the World Baseball Classic, joining teammate Gio Gonzalez on the American roster. Detwiler, 26, won 10 games for Washington last season and posted a 3.40 ERA. He's projected as the Nationals' No. 4 or 5 starter. Gonzalez won't join Team USA unless it advances to the second round of pool play in Miami. Nationals manager Davey Johnson wants Gonzalez to start three Spring Training starts with Washington before pitching in the World Baseball Classic.
