Nate Diaz on UFC 202 Rematch with Conor McGregor: ‘I Thought I Won the Fight'
Nate Diaz handed Conor McGregor his first UFC loss at UFC 196 in March, and snapped the Irishman's 15-fight winning streak. Before Diaz' hand was raised inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas that night, McGregor was already asking for a rematch.
A second fight between the two was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 200 in July, but McGregor was removed from the fight card after failing to meet media obligations promoting the event. The fight was re-booked to headline UFC 202. The second time around, McGregor evened the score with Diaz, winning by majority decision. Diaz did not agree with the judges.

“I thought I won, at least three rounds to two. I didn’t think that was even a question,” he said following the rematch. “I thought I won the fight, and then they gave it to him.”
Diaz was knocked down three times by McGregor in the early rounds of the UFC 202 main event. He came on strong in the later rounds, but came up short on the scorecards. Reflecting on the fight, Diaz didn't think McGregor did a lot.
“I don’t think he did much. He did a lot of running in that fight,” he said. “He ran the whole fight. Did you see me chasing him around?”
