Veteran point guard Steve Nash was set to start for the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday against the San Antonio Spurs in the opener of their NBA Western Conference playoff series in San Antonio.
The 39-year-old Nash, a two-time NBA MVP, had missed the final eight games of the regular season because of a hamstring injury.
Already without Kobe Bryant because of a season-ending Achilles' tendon tear he suspended on April 12, the Lakers welcomed Nash back to the starting lineup with Steve Blake, Metta World Peace, Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard.
In 50 games this season, Nash is averaging 12.7 points and 6.7 assists.
