MRI: No new damage to Manning's ankle

The SportsXchange

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning aggravated an ankle injury during Sunday's win over the San Diego Chargers but will not miss any games, NFL Network reported Monday.

An MRI on Manning's injured right ankle revealed no new damage, according to the report.

Manning did not require a walking boot Monday but that does not mean he will not be limited in practice this week. More is expected to be known Wednesday.

Denver (8-1) hosts the 9-0 Kansas City Chiefs in an key AFC West showdown Sunday night.

The Denver Post reported Monday that Manning "absolutely will play Sunday," according to a source.

"I'm pretty sore," Manning said after Sunday's game. "They kind of got me twice in kind of that lower area."

Manning originally sustained the high ankle sprain during the Broncos' recent bye week.
