Alex Ferguson: Manchester United still in title race

David Moyes insists he has no problem with Sir Alex Ferguson watching Manchester United matches from the stands.

Ferguson has been ever-present in the director's box since retiring from management at the end of last season, even as his successor has endured a rough start.

TV cameras often find the Scot immediately after United suffer a setback, but Moyes is adamant that his legendary predecessor's presence is not a distraction for him or his team.

"It tells you that people don't know me, they don't know Sir Alex," Moyes told MUTV. "People are only saying it [causes problems] because they have no idea about how it works. Sir Alex has been fantastic, incredibly supportive, he's only there to help me.

"I have a conversation with him when I need it. I tend to see him for a minute or two after the games, we'll have a chat and I've found him great.

"All the people around the club... Sir Bobby [Charlton], Bryan Robson, all the former players in the main have been great.

"But obviously there are a lot of people who are out there trying to twist their words or make it look as if there's some problem. I've got no problem at all with it [Sir Alex attending matches]."
