Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho insists it would be a "pity" if Zlatan Ibrahimovic decides against playing in the Premier League before he retires.

Earlier on Tuesday the Swede, who enters the final year of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain this summer, insisted it would be "impossible" to get him to England now.

But while he concedes Ibrahimovic does not need to move to the Premier League to enhance an already illustrious career, Mourinho is adamant the 32-year-old will have missed out.

"It is a pity for Ibrahimovic if he finishes his career and hasn't played in the best league the world," he told reporters.

"But his career is so full of success that he's one of the greatest players even if he didn't play in the Premier League."

Mourinho and Ibrahimovic will be on opposing sides when PSG hosts Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal on Wednesday and the Special One insists friendship will be forgotten during the match.

"Ibrahimovic has a big self-esteem and to be his coach was fantastic, but now he wants to win tomorrow and I want to win," he added.

Mourinho also hailed PSG's dealings in the transfer market over the last couple of years, adding: "In the last two years PSG's investment was fantastic and their choice of players was fantastic."
