While David Garrard has gotten plenty of first-team reps with the Miami Dolphins, the team's primary starter from 2011 got his chance to work with the starters on Wednesday.
Matt Moore piloted the first-team offense and drew some praise from new head coach Joe Philbin, according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
"He's done well," Philbin said. "He has a good feel for the game. I thought he did a good job in those situations today. ... I thought he had a good day.
"I like the way he's caught on to the system."
That means the battle is still pretty much wide open between Moore and Garrard to see which one keeps the seat warm for first-round pick Ryan Tannehill until the youngster is ready to take over, whether that be this season or sometime in 2013.
