Montreal's Parros diagnosed with concussion

Montreal enforcer George Parros was diagnosed with a concussion shortly after the Canadiens' 4-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs in the season-opener for both teams Tuesday.

Parros was injured when he fell face first onto the ice at the end of his second fight of the game with Toronto tough-guy Colton Orr.

Orr, who earned a game misconduct along with Parros, immediately motioned for help for his counterpart, who lay motionless on ice. Canadiens physician Vincent Lacroix attended to Parros, who had his head and neck immobilized before he was taken off the ice on a stretcher, bleeding from the chin.

Postgame reports indicated that Parros was alert and conscious and undergoing more tests.
