The Montreal Impact snapped out of their seven game losing streak on Saturday, with a gutsy 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union. Felipe's first half goal was the difference in the game, as the Impact showed some of the defensive resoluteness they've been lacking all season.
Montreal took the lead in 15th minute after Patrice Bernier unleashed a shot on goal which goalkeeper Zac MacMath spilled in front of him. The onrushing Felipe finished easily from close range.
Content to sit back and try to catch the visitors on the counterattack for most of the game, the Impact managed to keep the Philadelphia attack at bay and hold on to their slender advantage, recording their first clean sheet of the season after conceding 14 goals in their first seven games.
