A physical 0-0 draw between the Montreal Impact and FC Dallas at Stade Saputo did little arrest the recent frustrations of either team.
Dallas' winless run hit eight games in a row, stretching back to May after early form had seen the Hoops top MLS. Montreal's skid ran to its fifth game without victory and a second consecutive game without scoring.
The home side had a significant advantage in possession and chances, but Dallas keeper Raul Fernandez was up to the task, coming up with four saves. He could count himself lucky however, that Justin Mapp's 26th minute blast only found the crossbar.
