Ellis finished 7-18 from the field and 9-10 from the free throw line. Dirk Nowitzki also chipped in for Dallas, finishing with 18 points and 6 rebounds. On 5-11 shooting, including 3-8 from behind the arc, George Hill scored 14 points for Indiana in the loss. Paul George added 12 points and 7 rebounds and David West finished with 12 points and 6 assists.
The Pacers posted an eFG% of just 36.3%, including 29.2% from 3-point range. This year, they are 3-3 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Mavericks are 6-1 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.
Indiana (40-12) could not get back-to-back victories after defeating Denver on Monday.
