Mo Williams: Suffered Complete Tear In Right Thumb
Update: Williams' recent surgery repaired a "complete tear" in his right thumb, an injury that was quite similar to one he sustained in 2008, the Salt Lake Tribune reports. While 4-to-6 weeks was the original prognosis for a recovery, he will have a pin removed from the thumb after six weeks, at which he said his "rehab really starts."

Recommendation: Williams has missed the past eight games with the injury, which was originally termed a severe sprain and was downgraded to "right thumb surgery" a short time before the procedure on Jan. 4. In his stead, Jamaal Tinsley figures to start at point guard, with the minutes of Earl Watson, Gordon Hayward, and Alec Burks expected to see a modest bump. Williams, who also suffered a small bone chip in the thumb, will be evaluated around the All-Star break.
