MLS Preview: Vancouver Whitecaps - LA Galaxy

The Vancouver Whitecaps don't have to wait long to avenge last week's 1-0 loss at the Los Angeles Galaxy.

The 'Caps will play host to the Galaxy on Saturday afternoon at BC Place in a rare opportunity that allows Vancouver the chance to immediately try to earn some payback against the team responsible for its most recent defeat. The quirk in the scheduling will also allow for a lot of familiarity between the two sides, which only saw one goal between them last week thanks to a 47th minute strike by Robbie Keane.

Vancouver will hope to take control of the match on home turf, and the club will need a better performance from designated player Pedro Morales if that is to happen. Despite not yet finding his form on the road, Morales has looked brilliant in the friendly confines of BC Place.

One thing the Whitecaps can look forward to is the return of Matias Laba, who sat out of the first match versus LA due to a suspension. The ball-winning midfielder should solidify the center of the park for Vancouver, something that was missing at times in the first encounter between these two sides.

For Los Angeles, Saturday's match represents an opportunity to put a run together after a relatively weak start to the season. The Galaxy are on a two-game winning streak, and while their 3-0 victory over Chivas USA was technically an away match, they have yet to pick up full points away from the StubHub Center.

LA will also be looking to finally get Landon Donovan into the record books as the league's all-time leading goalscorer. Donovan has been tied with Jeff Cunningham atop the career scoring charts since late last season.
