Another week, another laundry list of walking wounded for Toronto FC.
After pulling off an unexpected 2-0 win last week at Columbus despite missing a number of starters, TFC heads into Saturday's contest versus the Colorado Rapids with another unenviable injury list. Jermain Defoe and Doneil Henry are both confirmed out (along with long-term absentee Bright Dike), while Michael Bradley, Jonathan Osorio and Alvaro Rey have all been listed as "questionable" by Toronto coach Ryan Nelsen.
It all adds up to another test of TFC's depth, this time to a Colorado side that is still finding its feet under new boss Pablo Mastroeni.
The Rapids pulled out a surprise 2-1 victory in Vancouver last week, aided largely by a second-half red card to Whitecaps midfielder Matias Laba and a pair of stunning strikes by Jose Mari. Colorado wasn't looking particularly sharp until the Laba ejection, which could be expected given Vancouver's overall record at BC Place.
TFC hasn't been as impressive at BMO Field over its history, but one thing it can boast is never having lost to the Rapids in Toronto. In fact, Colorado is one of the few teams that carries an overall losing record against TFC, although with several Reds starters projected to be out Saturday perhaps the Rapids can finally find a way to grab three road points from Toronto.
