MLS Preview: Real Salt Lake - LA Galaxy

The LA Galaxy's tough schedule to kick off 2014 doesn't get any easier Saturday.

Fresh off being ousted by Tijuana in the CONCACAF Champions League midweek, the Galaxy (0-1-0) return to MLS action with a trip to face Real Salt Lake (1-0-1) at 4 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

After Salt Lake eliminated the Galaxy in the Western Conference semifinals last fall, Nick Rimando stopped Robbie Keane's late penalty kick March 8 as RSL picked up a 1-0 season-opening win at the StubHub Center. In six matches over the past year, the clubs are 3-3-0 against each other.

Two late goals from San Jose last weekend held RSL to a 3-3 draw and kept it from starting the Jeff Cassar era with two straight road wins. The Galaxy, meanwhile, struggled early and never fully recovered as they fell 4-2 in Tijuana, dropping the quarterfinal 4-3 on aggregate.

Although forwards Robbie Findley (patellar tendon) and Devon Sandoval (bone bruise) remain out, RSL could see center back Chris Schuler (foot) and playmaker Javier Morales (back) return to the fold Saturday.

For the Galaxy, left back Todd Dunivant could return to the starting lineup after playing 45 minutes against Tijuana on Tuesday. Center back Kofi Opare (abductor) and midfielder Robbie Rogers (ankle) remain questionable.
