The last time the Los Angeles Galaxy played at Jeld-Wen Field, a last-minute goal handed the Galaxy a tough loss, and Portland Timbers coach Caleb Porter and Galaxy coach Bruce Arena exchanged heated words after the final whistle. The two coaches will probably be on better behavior when they meet again on Sunday night, but their teams stand a good chance of playing another tightly-contested and heated clash.
The Galaxy tied the Seattle Sounders last week, and could be without Landon Donovan for a second straight match as he recovers from a hamstring injury. Without him, the Galaxy could struggle to break through a tough Timbers defense that has held LA to one goal scored in two previous meetings.
The Timbers attack is lead by the red-hot Diego Valeri, who has scored in each of the Timbers past three matches. The Argentine playmaker is putting together an MVP-caliber season, but he will face a tough test from Galaxy midfielders Juninho and Marcelo Sarvas.
