  • FC Dallas got a late equalizer from Blas Perez to ensure a 3-3 draw with the LA Galaxy on Sunday, despite Landon Donovan's hat trick

  • Portland had last weekend off, and the team's most recent match was a 2-1 loss to Real Salt Lake in the U.S. Open Cup semifinal on Aug. 7.

  • This will be the fourth and final meeting of these teams this season. Portland has won two and drawn one, including a win in the U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal.

  • FCD goalkeeper Raul Fernandez returns to the team after a man of the match performance in Peru's 0-0 friendly draw against South Korea.

  • FCD is in seventh place in the Western Conference, but is only two points behind fourth-placed Portland. The Timbers do have a game in hand.
