  • The Sounders won the initial two meetings with LA last year, their first-ever wins in the series, before losing a third regular season matchup.

  • Then the Galaxy advanced in the playoffs, 4-2 on aggregate.

  • Los Angeles has lost three of its last four games.

  • Seattle has scored four goals in consecutive games, a first in franchise history, thanks to a 4-2 win over FC Dallas last week. Eddie Johnson scored twice to win MLS player of the week honors.

  • The Sounders (15 points) could leapfrog the Galaxy (17 points) in the standings with a win the Home Depot Center. Seattle also has a game in hand.
