The I-45 rivalry between Dallas and Houston is back on Saturday, with Western Conference leader FC Dallas heading south to take on the Eastern Conference's third-placed team, the Houston Dynamo.
Brad Davis notched his 100th career assist for the Dynamo in last week's loss to the Vancouver Whitecaps, making him the first Dynamo player to reach that milestone. The midfielder followed that up with a starting spot midweek for the USA, making him the man to keep and eye on for Houston heading into Saturday's rivalry game.
Dallas has opened the season with three wins and a draw from four games, leaving the club top of the table heading into the showdown with Houston. The only blemish on the team's record, a 1-1 result in Kansas City against Sporting, was followed up with wins over Chivas USA and Portland to round out a brilliant opening month for the Hoops.
Mauro Diaz notched up two goals and one assist while pulling the strings in the Dallas midfield. His showing earned him MLS Player of the Month honors and FCD will be hoping he's at his best against a Houston team that could be Dallas' toughest test of the season.
