The battle for the Atlantic Cup 2014 kicks off Saturday as the New York Red Bulls head south to take on D.C. United.
Both teams have had their struggles to open the 2014 campaign, with United taking its first win of the season last week with a 2-0 victory over New England to end a club-record run without a win. New York is still looking for its first win of the season, but the team has only one loss in five matches, and has already taken two draws away from home.
In 62 all-time meetings United has racked up 31 wins to only 22 losses, with nine draws along the way. Eighteen of those wins came in the 32 meetings between the sides at RFK, where New York has racked up only 10 wins.
New York claimed last year's season series, going 2-0-1 against United.
The two teams enter with four points each on the season, with both looking to climb into the top half of the Eastern Conference.
