MLS Preview: Colorado Rapids - Chivas USA

The Colorado Rapids host Chivas USA in a MLS match Sunday (3 p.m. ET, UniMas) and will hope to extend its visitors miserable run.

New coach Wilmer Cabrera didn't take long to notch his first victory, as the club won its opening match of the season, but Chivas USA hasn't won since and enters the weekend's contest as losers of its last three. The club made some moves during the week in an attempt to right the ship, landing Honduras international midfielder Marvin Chavez from Colorado and in return for Luke Moore. A tweet apparently from Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista during the week also seemed to indicate the forward won't return to the field for the club.

Chavez could face his former team, but Moore was in turn sent to Toronto, and the Rapids picked up defender Gale Agbossoumonde. The team will be on short rest after a scoreless midweek draw with the San Jose Earthquakes. Prior to that, the Rapids, and their new coach Pablo Mastroeni, handed the LA Galaxy a 1-0 defeat. The Rapids attack, headlined by Uruguayan forward Vicente Sanchez who has five goals on the season, will look to take advantage of the fact that it's facing a Chivas USA defense that has given up more goals than any team in the league. Chivas USA will try to counter with forward Erick "Cubo" Torres, whose seven goals trail only Clint Dempsey's eight for the MLS lead, but the Mexican has received very little support from teammates.
