Chivas USA will be hoping to continue what has been a solid start to its 2014 MLS campaign by taking points off of its biggest rival, the LA Galaxy.
The Galaxy, having played just two matches so far in 2014, are still searching for a win, and for their first league game against a team other than Real Salt Lake. With the club's second scheduled game pushed back so the players could be rested for a CONCACAF Champions League match, the Galaxy opened the MLS regular season with consecutive matches against RSL, drawing one and losing the other.
Chivas USA's start has been much more promising. From four games the Goats have picked up five points, taking a win over Chicago before draws with Vancouver and New York put themselves in fifth place in the West after four games.
Still, the Galaxy should come into the match with plenty of confidence against their city rival. In the last five meetings with the Galaxy, Chivas USA has picked up just one point from a 1-1 draw in March of last season.
