MLS Preview: Chicago Fire - New Engand Revolution

Goal.com

With two wins in their past three games, the New England Revolution have started to bounce back from a sluggish start. Now the winless Chicago Fire will look to follow suit.

The Fire (0-1-5) haven't lost since an opening-weekend setback against Chivas USA, but they also are yet to taste victory as the Eastern Conference's top attack has been let down by a leaky back line. The Revolution (2-3-1), on the other hand, are coming off a 2-0 win over the Houston Dynamo and have returned to the middle of the conference pack after a three-game winless stretch to kick off 2014.

While Chicago's forward duo of reigning MVP Mike Magee and journeyman Quincy Amarikwa (a career-high three goals in just six games) offers a clear challenge, it remains to be seen who the Revolution will deploy up top Saturday (4 p.m., NBCSN). While Teal Bunbury, Charlie Davies and Dimitry Imbongo have all received auditions there, it could be Jerry Bengtson getting the nod this week after his goal off the bench in the win over Houston.

New England has its fair share of injury concerns, with center back Jose Goncalves (quad), left back Chris Tierney (hip) and playmaker Kelyn Rowe (hamstring) all question marks. Greg Cochrane figures to again start at left back for Chicago with Gonzalo Segares (ankle) sidelined.
