We’re almost there. Just seven days until the official start of the baseball season. The offseason has felt unbearably long, but it’s just about over. Teams are making their roster decisions and setting their rotations and lineups. Players on the bubble are finding out where they’ll start their season, knowing that it may not be the same place they’ll finish it.

A baseball season is like a big, long TV series that airs up to 15 new episodes almost every single night for six months. There are dozens and dozens of important storylines and hundreds of characters. Hard to keep track of, right? So MLB wants to help you. They’ve put together this 60-second video that gets you up to date on what we know going into the new season. Because if baseball is a TV series, you need a comprehensive “last time on” segment to catch you up.

There are a lot of great things about that video, but the radar gun saying “DANG” after Clayton Kershaw throws a pitch is the best.

If this doesn’t get you excited about the upcoming season, well, your favorite team probably wasn’t featured in that ad. But that’s the great thing about baseball: no one knows what will happen when the pitches start flying and the bats start swinging. Teams will surprise everyone and come out of nowhere. There will be injuries, struggles, and unexpected breakouts. The standings will change. The narrative will change. And it all starts in one week.

Are you ready for baseball? Because baseball is ready for you.
