The SportsXchange

The Chicago White Sox traded outfielder Alex Rios to the Texas Rangers on Friday.

The White Sox are also sending $1 million to the Rangers toward Rios' salary.

The White Sox will receive a player to be named later. The player is believed to be shortstop Leury Garcia, according to ESPN. However, White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said that is still being worked out.

Texas claimed Rios off waivers Thursday.

Rios is making $12 million this year and is due $13 million next season. He also has a $2 million buyout for 2015. He has a no-trade clause, but the Rangers were not on his no-trade list.

Rios said he would not make it to Houston in time for Friday night's game against the Astros.

"I haven't even talked to Jack Clark in close to 10 years. His statements are simply not true," Mihlfeld told ESPN on Friday.

Pujols has denied using PEDs.
