MLB 2012 Postseason Schedule

One scheduling quirk necessitated by the addition of two wild-card teams (one in each league) is that the top seeds in the postseason will begin the playoffs on the road.

Instead of the Division Series following the familiar 2-2-1 format, with the top seed hosting the first two games and the fifth game, this year's Division Series will employ a 2-3 format, with the lower seed hosting Game 1 and Game 2 before the series shifts to the top-seeded team's home park for Games 3, 4, and 5.
