The Philadelphia defense had no answer for Matt Asiata as he led the way to a sound victory for the Vikings over the Eagles, 48-30, at home.
Matt Cassel tore apart the Eagles for three scores (2 pass, 1 rush) on 26 of 35 passing for 382 yards and one pick. Nick Foles gave his best effort to keep the Eagles competitive, going 30 of 48 with 428 yards passing, three touchdowns and one pick.
Asiata ran all over the Eagles for 51 yards on 30 attempts with three touchdowns while adding three receptions for 15 yards. Greg Jennings was a highlight, pulling in 11 passes for 163 yards with a touchdown.
The Minnesota defense managed to contain the running game, but could not slow down the passing attack, giving up 428 yards passing and 79 rushing. They terrorized Foles and the Eagles offensive line with four sacks.
Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson provided some spark with 195 receiving yards and one touchdown. Tight end Zach Ertz also had a good game with 57 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Next week, the Vikings travel to Cincinnati to face the Bengals (9-4) while the Eagles are at home against the Bears (8-6).
