Toby Gerhart had a big day running the football, but it wasn't enough to avoid a frustrating loss for the Vikings against the Ravens, 29-26, in Baltimore.
Matt Cassel accounted for two touchdown on 17 of 38 passing for 265 yards and no interceptions. Joe Flacco ended up going 28 of 50 with 245 yards passing, three touchdowns and three picks for the Ravens.
Gerhart was a bright spot for the Vikings, running for 89 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown with one fumble. In the fourth quarter, he broke for a 41-yard sprint for a score. Cordarrelle Patterson was a highlight, catching five balls for 141 yards while adding a touchdown.
The Minnesota defense surrendered 97 yards rushing and 245 passing. They sacked Flacco two times.
Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta was impressive, racking up 48 receiving yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Marlon Brown also put together a noteworthy performance with 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Vikings will play host to the Eagles (8-5) next week while the Ravens head to Detroit to face off with the Lions (7-6).
