Minnesota United FC announced that it will host the Ottawa Fury FC in a North American Soccer League (NASL) match following the Guinness International Champions Cup match between Manchester City and Olympiacos at TCF Bank Stadium on Saturday, August 2.
Kickoff for the match between the two European clubs, which will be broadcast internationally on Fox Sports 2, is set for 2 p.m. CDT, while Minnesota and Ottawa will kick off their match at 4:30 p.m. CDT. Minnesota’s match will be televised live on KSTC45-TV.
“On August 2nd, fans at TCF Bank Stadium will witness one of the greatest professional soccer events in Minnesota history,” said United President Nick Rogers. “We are thrilled to partner with Relevent Sports to produce this great event. This is going to be a great day for soccer in Minnesota.”
"With a great local fan base, Minnesota United was a natural choice to partner with for the match,” said Relevent Sports President and CEO Charlie Stillitano. “We are confident that the newly added match featuring Minnesota United will help make this event even better.”
The pair of games will mark the first time professional soccer will be played at TCF Bank Stadium since its opening in 2009.
