Minnesota Twins at Cleveland Indians, August 8, 2012: Fan Preview

Yahoo Contributor Network

For the Cleveland Indians, they are at a point where their recent play is beyond a slump. There are traditionally highs and lows throughout a baseball season but the fact they have lost games to what can be considered weaker opponents is nothing more than a slap in the face to fans of the team.

Teams lose a series now and then, some even more often than others. When it gets embarrassing is when a team is looking to avoid their fourth consecutive sweep against a team that is below them in the standings. The hardest aspect to grasp is if the Indians lose on August 8 they will have the same record as the Minnesota Twins. Now that hurts to just think about.

The Tribe's hope to end the bleeding rests in the arm of Justin Masterson. Otherwise fan outrage will turn into greater apathy, but at least with outrage you know fans still care.
