Milwaukee Bucks 2012-2013 Game-by-Game Predictions: One NBA Fan's Outlook

Yahoo Contributor Network

After two years of being one of the most inept offensive teams in the NBA, the Milwaukee Bucks were more productive on the offensive side of the ball last season. However, the defense that had become Milwaukee's calling card under Coach Scott Skiles took a substantial step backwards during the lockout-shortened season.

If the Bucks want to give themselves any chance of making the playoffs this season, they will have to find a way to score the ball effectively while getting back to the defensive efficiency they displayed during the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 campaigns.

With a backcourt made up of Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings--two dynamic, though inefficient, scorers--Milwaukee will find a way to manufacture points on most nights. But simply manufacturing points will not be enough to consistently produce wins.

The key to any success the Bucks may have this season will be predicated on what they do on the defensive end of the floor. Ellis and Jennings will score points, but if they do not have an impact on the defensive side of the ball, Milwaukee will more than likely be on the outside looking in when the 2013 NBA Playoffs begin.
