Miles Plumlee posted his eighth double-double this season, scoring 22 points and registering 13 rebounds, to help the Phoenix Suns beat the Philadelphia 76ers, 115-101. Phoenix (18-11) has now won eight of their last 10 games.
Plumlee finished 10-14 from the field, in a strong performance. Goran Dragic contributed 21 points and 5 assists for Phoenix as well. Thaddeus Young had another strong game for Philadelphia despite the loss, scoring 30 points on 10-18 shooting (4-7 on 3-point attempts), in addition to going 6-7 from the free throw line. He also recorded 10 rebounds. Michael Carter-Williams added 27 points and 6 rebounds and Spencer Hawes finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
Poor shooting (eFG% of 44.7%) combined with sloppy ball-handling (TO% of 18.2) proved too much to overcome for the 76ers. On the season, they are winless (0-2) when posting an eFG% of worse than 45% while also giving the ball away on more than 17% of their possessions. The Suns are undefeated (2-0) when coaxing their opponents into such substandard offensive showings.
Philadelphia (8-21) has now dropped consecutive games after losing to Milwaukee on Saturday.
Coming up, the Suns square off with the Los Angeles Clippers, who are 20-11 on the season. The 76ers match up with the Los Angeles Lakers, currently sitting at 13-17 this year.
