Milan Lucic: Signs Extension With Bruins
Update: Lucic, who was entering the final season of his current deal, has agreed to a three-year, $18 million extension with the Bruins, the Boston Globe reports.

Recommendation: Over the last eight days the Bruins have committed $70.5 million towards securing Lucic, Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand to proactively help keep the nucleus of the team intact. The deals ensure the Bruins a measure of continuity, but it remains to be seen what sort of shape the team will be in cap-wise once the NHL fires up a new CBA. In any case, Lucic is rewarded handsomely for his rugged two-way play, on the heels of a season that saw him rack up 26 goals and 61 points along with 135 PIM in 81 games.
