Buzzing on Yahoo Sports:

Mike Jenkins finally back in the mix for Cowboys

National Football Post

Questions abounded earlier in the offseason if the Dallas Cowboys would trade Mike Jenkins.

The role of the veteran cornerback changed when the team drafted Morris Claiborne but the club insisted Jenkins wasn’t going anywhere. Now, Jenkins is finally back in the mix. He passed his physical on Wednesday and will be eligible to practice for the first time on Sunday, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Jenkins has been working his way back from a shoulder injury and he missed the entire offseason program following surgery in January. Jenkins will be examined by Dr. James Andrews today.

“I think he’s made a lot of progress,” vice president Stephen Jones Jones told KRLD-FM. “I think he’s gotten himself in really good shape. I think he’s obviously ready to get back on the field. But he has to be cleared. Here over the next three, four, five days we’re going to find that out, in terms of what we can expect as far as where Mike’s going to be going forward.”
