See what happens when I take the positive approach. I praise LeSean McCoy for turning his season around and becoming “Shady” once again, he has to go and do what he did today. I know, it wasn’t his fault and all, but his hamstring injury that he sustained in practice proves one thing to me. Remain negative and the Buffalo Bills and their players will do well.

Playing out of his mind since the change was made at the offensive coordinator position, LeSean McCoy has been the Bills lifeline at times this season. As he went, the rest of the team seamed to follow. If that trend continues on Sunday, it could be a long afternoon for the team and it’s fans against the Miami Dolphins.

Sustaining an injury to his hamstring during practice on Wednesday, McCoy could miss out on the Bills game this Sunday. Even head coach Rex Ryan doesn’t know the severity of McCoy’s injury yet, meaning McCoy could miss some time in the coming weeks due to this problem.

Despite all this doom and gloom talk though, there is one player on the Bills depth chart that I believe could make up for the absence of McCoy. That player is Mike Gillislee. After all, he joined the Bills at the end of last season when McCoy was injured and managed to help the running game bunker down during Shady’s absence. Why can’t he do that again?

Coupling Gillislee with rookie Jonathan Williams would also help. Using “Wild Bill” and other blocking schemes to confuse the Dolphins defense — a defense that has struggled against the run this season. Using both backs will also allow for fresh legs to be constantly on the field, something the Bills will need if they are to continue with their run heavy attack.

With the combination of Gillislee and Williams in the backfield for Sunday’s game, the option to check down in the passing game will also remain open. Both Williams and Gillislee are capable in the passing game, giving Tyrod Taylor another option when the Bills do decide to throw the football.

For the Buffalo Bills to walk away with a W on Sunday, they will need someone to step up in the run game. Without LeSean McCoy, I believe that player will have to be Mike Gillislee.
