Mike Dunleavy scores 22, Bulls beat Celtics

Joakim Noah put up his 39th double-double this season, scoring 19 points and registering 11 rebounds, to help the Chicago Bulls defeat the Boston Celtics, 94-80. Chicago (42-32) has now won seven of their last 10 games.

Noah shot 9-19 from the field. Other key performers for Chicago were Carlos Boozer with 16 points and 7 rebounds, and Taj Gibson with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Despite the loss, Jerryd Bayless put up 18 points for Boston on 6-14 shooting, including 4-9 from behind the arc.

As expected, the Celtics offense did not have its best game, struggling to make shots against a Bulls defense that ranks second-best in the league at forcing misses (47.0% opponents' eFG%). After finishing with an eFG% of 44.8% in this game, they rank 28th in the NBA in that metric at 47.3% this season. The Celtics posted an eFG% of just 44.8%, including 28.0% from 3-point range. This year, they are 2-19 when they record marks below 45% and 30% in those respective categories. On the other hand, the Bulls are 17-4 when holding their opponents to such low percentages.

Boston (23-51) has now lost five in a row.

Coming up, the Bulls take on the Atlanta Hawks, who are 32-41 on the season. The Celtics match up with the Washington Wizards, currently sitting at 38-36 this year. The Bulls emerged victorious each of the last three times against Atlanta. The Celtics are 1-1 versus Washington this season.
