Mike Conley scores 20, Grizzlies dominate Bobcats

The Memphis Grizzlies took quality shots, finishing 44-87 (50.6%) from the field, including 7-13 (53.8%) from beyond the arc, to pummel the Charlotte Bobcats, 111-89. Memphis (36-26) has now won seven of their last 10 games.

Mike Conley put up 20 points on 7-18 shooting, including 5-7 on 3-point attempts. Other key players for Memphis included Zach Randolph with 16 points and 7 rebounds, Marc Gasol with 14 points and 9 rebounds, and Kosta Koufos with 12 points and 10 rebounds. On 7-17 shooting from the field and 3-4 from the free throw line, Al Jefferson scored 17 points for Charlotte in the loss. He also recorded 7 rebounds.

In addition to 23.8% from 3-point range, the Bobcats tallied an eFG% of just 42.5%. They are 2-12 on the season when registering marks below 30% and 45%, respectively, in those statistics. The Grizzlies, conversely, are undefeated (9-0) when holding the opposition to such dismal shooting numbers.

This drops Charlotte (29-34) to 1-1 versus Memphis on the season.

Coming up next, the Grizzlies battle the Portland Trail Blazers, who are 42-20 on the year. The Bobcats meet the Denver Nuggets, currently 27-34 this season. The Grizzlies are 1-0 versus Portland this season. The Bobcats have a 1-0 record against Denver this season.
