Mike Carp: Traded to Red Sox

Update: The Red Sox have obtained Carp from the Mariners in exchange for cash considerations or a player to be named later, according to NESN.com.

Recommendation: Carp, who hit .213 with five homers and 20 RBI in 164 at-bats over 59 games last season, can play both first base and left field and gives the team another left-handed-hitting option (along with the likes of Lyle Overbay, Mark Hamilton and the switch-hitting Daniel Nava) to back up left fielder Jonny Gomes and first baseman Mike Napoli.
