Michigan is one of three finalists for Garnett

National Football Post

Class of 2012 offensive lineman Joshua Garnett has narrowed his list of potential schools to three after taking an official visit to Stanford over the weekend.

The Puyallup, Wash., native and one of the best lineman prospects in the nation will choose either the Cardinal, Michigan or Notre Dame. David Shaw and his staff originally planned to recruit him as a guard, but the 6-5, 305-pounder has put on more bulk since the staff last saw him and now could project to be a tackle. He is listed as a tackle by some recruiting services, but he played guard in the Under Armour All-America Game. He has said that he would prefer to play tackle but would play guard if that's the position that is best for his football future.

The Puyallup High School talent will now host the head coaches from the respective schools this week, meeting with Shaw, Michigan's Brady Hoke and Notre Dame's Brian Kelly at his home.

Garnett said he plans to take the next few weeks to think over his decision and then he’ll be ready to make an announcement. He plans on making his decision public on Jan. 26.
