Vick plans to wear a Kevlar flak jacket/vest that is made from a different material and covers more of his torso than the one he previously used, philly.com reports. "It's Kevlar," said Vick, who noted that his new flak jacket/vest is lighter than the first one he tried. "I'm looking forward to it... to give me more protection and just to see what comes out of it. It's going to be custom fitted and fitted to protect all across my sternum, across my ribs. I think it'll be a better fit."
Recommendation: Meanwhile, the makers of Vick's new flak jacket seem pretty confident in their product, with Rob Vito, CEO of Unequal Technologies, going so far as to say, "I guarantee he will not get hurt." We'll take that with a grain of salt of course, but while Vick's style of play tends to expose him to injury risk, it is at least encouraging that he has taken steps to try to avoid an aggravation of his current rib issue by upgrading his protective equipment.
