Miami Heat Dominate Dallas Mavericks: Fan Reaction

Yahoo Contributor Network

After losing two straight games, the Miami Heat got back on track against the Dallas Mavericks, defeating the defending champions 106-86 on March 29. With the win, the Heat complete their season sweep of the Mavericks, increasing their home-win streak to 15 games.

The Mavericks took control in the opening quarter. But the Heat switched things around in the second quarter, outscoring the Mavericks by 12 points. The Heat held on to their lead in the third quarter. And their defense sealed the deal in the final quarter, holding the Mavericks to only 13 points.

"It was a total team win, and everyone did something positive," Dwyane Wade told reporters after the game. "We're going to need that playing three games in four nights. … I think the best thing we did was move the ball around. Everybody got some touches. We understand it was only two losses, but we couldn't lose not playing our style of basketball. This was about getting back to what we're successful doing on both sides of the floor."

LeBron James and Chris Bosh led Miami's offense against the Mavericks, finishing with 19 points and 9 rebounds (game-high) apiece. Wade also played well against Dallas, putting up 16 points and 5 assists.

"We just worked our habits," James told reporters. "The best thing about tonight, we didn't take another step backwards like we did the last two games. And it was good to see."

The Heat's role players have been under a lot of scrutiny lately, but they turned things around against the Mavericks. Udonis Haslem, Mario Chalmers, and Norris Cole stepped up their game against the Mavericks, finishing with 16, 12, and 10 points respectively.

Ronny Turiaf continued playing well for Miami, establishing himself as an inside presence against Dallas. Turiaf finished with 6 rebounds, 4 points, and 3 blocks.

The Heat's role players stepped up to the plate against the Mavericks, and fans can only hope they keep it up in their upcoming games. They'll now head up north, where they'll face the Toronto Raptors on March 30.
