With the NFL schedule being released on Thursday, teams and fans now know which direction these teams will be taking as they move forward. For some teams, the schedule release shows in order which teams they will lose to in the weeks ahead. For others, it shows how tough the matchups will be for their team on the quest to make the playoffs in 2017.

For the Miami Dolphins, 2017 should be a season where the team continues to take steps forward. Coming off a surprising playoff campaign in 2016, the Dolphins will be looking to take the next step and compete against the New England Patriots in the AFC East with Jarvis Landry even proclaiming that Miami will sweep the Patriots this season.

Taking a look at the whole schedule, a playoff appearance this season is not out of the question at all. Heck, double digit wins is even a possibility for the Miami Dolphins as they head forward into 2017.

3. November 26th at New England

Coming off their bye in week 11, the Miami Dolphins will head north to take on the rival New England Patriots. While the good news is that the game should not be played in snow like past contests, the bad news is that it is still New England. With that said, Miami should be in top gear by this point in the season and will have an extra weeks worth of rest and preparation.

These two facts could make a major impact on this contest and also Jarvis Landry’s prediction that Miami would sweep the Patriots. This contest will also be the first time we get to see Miami stack up against New England this season. If Miami is full strength, it will be interesting to see how this contest goes.

2. October 8th vs. Tennessee

Playing in London for their week 4 contest against the New Orleans Saints, the Miami Dolphins will have a quick turnaround for week 5. Having to return to Miami, prepare, and play the Titans all in one week after playing in London, this contest could be a trap game for the Dolphins going forward.

With that said, Miami should have the talent advantage over the Titans. If they can rest up well and come out ready to play, they should at least be able to jump over the Titans early in the game. Hanging on late, this game will either be a close win for Miami or a major loss that could derail any of their early season momentum.

1. December 24th at Kansas City

Heading to Kansas City for their penultimate game of the season, the Dolphins will have a tough contest on their hand with they take on the Chiefs. Not only should it be windy and cold with snow always being a possibility, but the Dolphins will also be coming off a home game in week 14 against New England and a road game at Buffalo during week 15.

Given the fact that the Chiefs will also be in competition for one of the AFC’s wild card spots and potentially their own division title, this game will be extremely tough for the Miami Dolphins. If Miami comes into this game needing a win to remain in the playoff race, it may be a long day for many Dolphins fans.
