Mexico stays at 15 in FIFA rankings

Mexico remained in 15th place in the FIFA rankings for January, a month after dropping in the ranking from the 14th spot.

With few matches disputed since the December ranking, the top ten remained unchanged. Spain once again topped the list, followed by Germany and Argentina.

Ecuador moved into the 11th spot, it’s highest ever ranking.

Mexico tops CONCACAF by a long shot, with the U.S. in 28th place the closest competition. Panama follows in 46th, with fellow Hexagonal participants Jamaica in 50th, Honduras 56th, and Costa Rica 64th.

The next FIFA ranking will be released on the Feb. 14, after the first matches of the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2014 World Cup.
