Outfielder-first baseman Andrew Brown has signed a minor-league contract with that New York Mets that includes an invitation to spring training. Brown, 28, hit .232 with five home runs and 11 RBI in 46 games for the Colorado Rockies last season. In 11 games with St. Louis in 2011, Brown batted .182. The right-handed-hitting Brown's career numbers in triple-A include a .296 batting average and 44 homers in 207 games.
