MACON, Ga. (AP) -- Daniel Coursey scored 20 points, on 9-of-11 shooting, as Mercer dominated NAIA Division II Reinhardt 95-53 on Wednesday night.
Mercer (1-1) narrowly lost to Texas 76-73 in its opening game. Mercer led 55-22 at halftime and used a 10-0 run at the start of the second half to extend its lead. The Bears broke 90 points for the first time since Jan. 30, 2010.
Reinhardt shot just 26.5 percent in the game and no player finished in double figures. Quinton Woods, Reinhardt's leading scorer (averaging 16.2 a game), went 2-for-14, including 0-for-7 from 3-point range.
The win marked Bob Hoffman's 500th career win and his 100th with Mercer.
